Represent the Windy City while paying homage to their last major title.

MATCH STORY

While the recent history of Chicago’s professional soccer club hasn’t offered up much joy, they do have a rich history in which to take solace. The last major piece of silverware came in 2006, when Chicago faced a star-studded Los Angeles side in the Open Cup final. Playing in front of a packed home stadium in Bridgeview, Illinois, the hosts began the match on fire. Their first goal came just nine minutes into the match when Nate Jaqua tucked away a deflected shot following a freekick into the box. A second came just seven minutes later when Andy Herron headed home a beautifully worked Justin Mapp cross. And though LA would pull one back a few moments after halftime, Chicago would weather the storm. Thiago eventually put the game out of reach two minutes from time by adding a third on the break, giving the Windy City their fourth Open Cup title in nine years.

DESIGN STORY

The match side of the wristband is meant to emulate Chicago’s recent navy-heavy kits and features four six-pointed stars inspired by the city’s iconic flag. The design of the reverse side is inspired by the club’s traditional red home kits and the white solid bars that went across their chests. MLS
